May 17, 2004 Outcrop Designers Join Graphic Designers of Canada The recently formed Arctic Chapter of the Graphic Designers of Canada covers all of Canada's North - Yukon, NWT and Nunavut. Outcrop Communications salutes four staff members (and organizers) in the new chapter: Steve Freake, Heidi Held, Jeff Hipfner and Dot Van Vliet. As recognized professional designers, and members of this respected organization they are entitled to use the initials MGDC following their names. February 3, 2004 Outcrop Group Awarded Multi-Year NWT Tourism Agency-of-Record Contract The Outcrop Group has been awarded a three-year Agency-of-Record (AOR) contract by Northwest Territories Arctic Tourism to provide integrated marketing, creative, media buying, research and public relations services. The contract takes effect April 1, 2004. "We were very impressed with the strength of the Outcrop personnel assigned to the contract and, in particular, the web-based experience of some of the team members," said David Grindlay, executive director of NWT Arctic Tourism. "We like their enthusiasm and also their approach to tying market success to cost." July 17, 2003 Idaa Trail site wins award The Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre has won an award for the Idaa Trail website, (Outcrop: design by Dot Van Vliet and SQL database by Grace Guo). The trilingual site was recognized for its content, developed by PWNHC staff, and the Canadian Archaeological Society also noted "this site is beautifully and clearly presented - in sum, well deserving of the first CAA Public Communications award for a web site."
